Anyone who can write a song about being in the garden of an eight-legged sea creature should win an award. This is also in the form of a love song. â€Å"We would sing and dance around because we know we cant be found† is quoted from the song, which details that he would like to be alone with this person. To finish the song off, Ringo’s quote â€Å"We would be so happy you and me, No one there to tell us what to do, Id like to be under the sea In an octopus garden with you† makes it clear that he is sending a message out to someone who he would like to be with undisturbed. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; The second-to-last track is appropriately titled â€Å"The End†. Essay on Dyslexia in Pediatrics - 1121 Words

Dyslexia is a learning disability that affects reading, writing, spelling, and sometimes speaking in children. Dyslexia is known as one of the common disabilities in children. Dyslexia can be mild or severe, every child diagnosed with dyslexia is different in some ways. Treatment for dyslexia should be introduced as early as possible for best results, however, it is never too late for improvement. (Bucciarell Rais, 2008) Dyslexia can be inherited through a person’s family or it can be caused by the way the brain has developed during pregnancy and early childhood. The only risk factor known of developing dyslexia is if someone in the family has been diagnosed, as it can be genetic. (Bucciarell Rais, 2008) Symptoms of dyslexia†¦show more content†¦Remediation helps children with dyslexia learn language skills in a different way than children who are not dyslexic. Remediation includes teaching a child small amounts of information at a time, teaching the same conc epts many times, and involves all the senses (hearing, touching, seeing, smelling, and speaking). Another treatment method used for children with dyslexia is compensatory strategies. Compensatory strategies teach the child to work around the effects of dyslexia. These strategies include: recording classroom lessons, homework assignments, and texts, using flashcards, sitting in the front of the classroom, using a computer that provides spelling and grammar checks, and allowing for more time for the child to complete assignments and homework. (Bucciarell Rais, 2008) Researchers have been studying genes trying to find a link to dyslexia. In a recent search, researchers have discovered a variation of a gene that is responsible for about seventeen percent of the cases of the reading disability dyslexia. This information is a potential piece of the puzzle in solving this disorder adding new hope for a cure. Researchers previously identified a region on chromosome 6 that may provide some understanding of the genes linked to dyslexia. The region houses 19 genes that are mostly expressed in the brain. This discovery has provided sufficient information leading to more possibilities for finding advanced treatment and maybe a cure. Food For Thought, By Franz Kafka - 854 Words

Food For Thought, Looking at The Metamorphosis In the short story, The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, the main character Gregor Samsa wakes up to see that he has become a giant bug, and he and his family have to adjust to the changes that this has brought about. Kafka weaves several images and symbols through out the story, so many that writing a paper on all of them would be incredibly long. However, the thing I will concentrate on is the use and symbols of food that Kafka has placed in the tale. Just what do these symbols mean? Why are they there and what do they show about Gregor and his family and their relationship? I will prove in my paper that a piece of bread and bowl of milk can be much more than just a meal. The food in this story shows how life has changed for Gregor, and also that in some of the scenes, that it even has references to passages from the Bible itself. The first instance that food plays a part in the story is when Gregor, after having been changed into his new form, finds a bowl of sweet milk with a piece of bread floating in it(Kafka 467). But Gregor is disgusted by the offered meal, and now finds that he can no longer enjoy one of his favorite beverages. This first sign of food in the story is a symbol of how things can change for a person in their life. How things that were once important for someone no longer have the same meaning anymore and lose their value. It is also a symbol of motherly love.
